Why should we try to offer wooden natural toys over the modern plastic toys?

Natural toys have many benefits that are proven to help grow the minds of young children. Babies and toddlers explore with their senses which is why they explore every environment with their hands and by putting everything in their mouths. When a young child is given a toy that doesn’t light up or make sound they are given the freedom to be curious and creative. “Open Ended and Close Ended Play” as it’s referred to allows children to cultivate a love for learning in a free and effortless way. Let them lead the way in their learning when possible, watch them develop cognitive skills, fine and gross motor skills all while using their imaginations. A skill that is slowly being lost with the next generation of child because of the advancements in technology.

Is Montessori Right for my Child?

Montessori toys are a type of educational toy designed to help children learn and develop in a natural and engaging way. Developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, a pioneering Italian educator, these toys are based on the principles of Montessori education, which emphasizes hands-on learning, exploration, and self-discovery.

Montessori toys are designed to be open-ended and multi-sensory, allowing children to use their imagination and creativity to play and learn. These toys typically have simple, natural designs and are made from high-quality materials, such as wood, glass, and metal.

One of the key benefits of Montessori toys is that they encourage children to engage in activities that promote the development of important skills, such as fine motor skills, problem-solving skills, and concentration. For example, a Montessori toy might be a set of blocks that a child can use to build towers and other structures, helping them develop their coordination and spatial reasoning abilities.

Another advantage of Montessori toys is that they are designed to be age-appropriate and to support children at different stages of their development. For example, a Montessori toy for a young child might be a set of stacking cups, which can help them develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. As a child gets older, they might use more complex Montessori toys, such as a set of beads and strings for counting and sorting, or a map and puzzle for learning about geography and spatial relationships.

Overall, Montessori toys are a great way to support children's learning and development in a natural and engaging way. These toys provide children with the freedom to explore, create, and learn at their own pace, helping them to develop important skills and a love of learning.
